OCTOBER NEWS LETTER
In the month of October the panther battalion attended their first service learning project at Gideon elementary school. Many cadets who attended this service learning project had a first hand experience on standing and teaching students in many ways. Cadets showed a outstanding joy meant of what they do, and actually learned a lot from young and older students.
JROTC key to success is “Teamwork”. During the junior achievement service learning project with Gideon, The panther battalion was divided into 3 cadets per group and class, during the grouping many cadets of the battalion worked as a team to accomplish the mission. Cadets who attended the service learning project also taught students drill movements, cadences, and a lot of leadership values that will help them in the future. Students at Gideon K-5, was taught to respect each other, and be a real leader. These three steps are used everyday in the panther battalion. Towards the end of the service learning project, the cadets of the panther battalion enjoyed teaching the students of Gideon. The students of Gideon have provided the cadets with a amazing amount of teaching skills and conflict resolution.
To the cadets that attended this outstanding service learning project, we the cadet staff and JROTC department along with instructors would like to thank you all for providing the students of Gideon with a outstanding memorable opportunity, that will allow them to better manage their money for their future and the real world.
To the students of Gideon we the Carver battalion would like to thank you for all that you have provided towards us the cadets. You have taught us how to better teach a class and most importantly you have taught us how to control a class environment we are truly looking forward to seeing you all as leaders of your generation.
LEARNING ABOUT LEADERSHIP
Leadership is one of the best ablilitys their is in the JROTC program. Cadets with all forms of background that also involves culture, Learn about leadership and how to motivate each other in a respectful way. Leadership has influenced many cadets to go to college and try new things in the program.
JROTC mission to "To Motivate Young People To Become Better Citizens" is a true statement.
As a cadet in the JROTC program, I am pround to say "I am proud to be the future of the United States Of Amercia."

What Is The History Of The JROTC Program?
_ JROTC mission, is to motivate young people to become better citizens ,has changed very little since the year of 1916 when congress passed the National Defense Act; however, the tradition of combining formal education with military studies goes back far as the ancient Greeks. Centuries before JROTC existed, the Greeks, Romans, Feudal Europeans, and Japanese had there own versions, In the United States, JROTC had its beginnings in Norwich, Vermont.
In 1819, Captain Alden Partridge, a former superintendent of the United States Military Academy at West Point, founded the American Literary, Scientific, and University. Military studies were a major part of the academy’s course work.etc

UPDATES OF THE CARVER WEBSITE
_ The Carver JROTC Department now have videos of the Drill Team Meet that was held in Decatur Georgia. The website layout has also been change to a new color. Be sure to look at the new slid show of pictures in the photos of the website. Also fellow cadets if you have not taken the survey for the JROTC Department please do so. This survey is important to your fellow staff as well as the instructors so that we can now what you think about the department and what you think should be change in the panther JROTC Department.

JROTC is a World Wide Program for High School Students . JROTC offers many benefits to include the JROTC Scholarship. The JROTC Program is one of the best program in the nation because it helps youth’s with many backgrounds to always believe in them self as well as allowing them over come their fears with the yearly summer camp known as JCLC ( Junior Cadet Leadership Challenge) JROTC is also one of the best programs because it allows students to get their grades up to a A and B average instead of an C average. The mission of JROTC is to motivate young people to become better citizens not only that but also the key of JROTC is teamwork which is needed in the program in order to complete an necessary mission.
